Soap Box Derby

Starts at 6:30pm Friday before Labour Day

          Cars line up at 6:30 and races start at 7:00. The Soap Box Derby is held at the Laird Raceway track in Bar River.  For more information, contact the Municipal office.

Family Day

1:00-3:30pm TBA in August (generally the Saturday before Labour Day weekend)

          Family Day is to take place at the Echo Bay Recreation Field, where the Steelworkers community Services Committee will be there with the Big Slide, Moonwalks, visit from the local fire department, and many other fun family games. Prizes, food and refreshments will be available. This is a free day for families to come out and enjoy the excitement.

Sylvan Circle Artist & Artisan Tour

9:00 am-6:00 pm  on a Saturday September.

          The Sylvan Circle artists invite you to spend a glorious fall day exploring the diverse artistry of our region. We welcome visitors to discover what it means for artists and artisans to live and work in their communities. The tour is self guided and absolutely free.  Visit local shops for pamphlets or contact the Municipal office for more details.

Parade of Lights

Come out and join the fun at the annual event on a Saturday in December.

It starts at 7:00pm Saturday.  Santa will be around at 6:15 to greet the children before the parade.  So, keep an eye on your town flyer or the home page for the Saturday night of fun date details.

          To celebrate the Christmas season the annual Christmas "Parade of Lights" is held. All floats in the parade are beautifully lit and decorated with Christmas lights. The evening also includes a tree lighting ceremony, a visit from Santa and caroling. 

Winter Carnival

6:30pm-10:00pm -- Keep an eye on your town flyer or the Homepage for details.  

          The annual winter carnival, sponsored by Shamrock Figure Skating Club, will start at 4:00pm with a lasagna Dinner to 6:00pm. Cost is by donation. Carnival events begin at 6:00pm following the dinner at the Echo Bay Sportsplex. Events include: Skating races for all ages, hockey shoot, nail pounding, log sawing, bubble-gum blowing contest and a family skate.
